Why train on Dynon SkyView displays instead of Garmin?

Because seeing a second glass-panel family makes you a more adaptable pilot. Most of this fleet flies Garmin G3X Touch displays, while N542SC, a 2016 Czech Sport Aircraft SportCruiser, carries two Dynon SkyView HDX screens and a Dynon autopilot. Both systems show the same information, attitude, airspeed, altitude, navigation and engine data, but they organize menus and knobs differently. A pilot who is comfortable in both can rent or fly almost any modern light airplane without a long learning curve. The SportCruiser itself is a roomy low-wing light sport airplane with a sliding canopy and easy, forgiving handling, powered by a Rotax 912 ULS. It rents for 165 dollars an hour wet, with fuel included, and my instruction is 75 dollars an hour. It carries 40 pounds of baggage behind the seats plus 22 pounds in each wing locker, and it is available to rent solo after a checkout.
